DMEXCO Forest for CO2 compensation

With the DMEXCO Forest, we have been committed to an agroforestry project in Kenya since 2019. Together with the Social Business Treedom more than 2,400 trees have been planted in the region around Thika and Muranga, which will store around 1 million kilograms of CO2 by 2029.

The tree plantings contribute to poverty alleviation and economic growth in the region.  Another focus in Thika and Muranga is the fight for gender equality. A large proportion of the participants are women who are planting trees for the first time themselves or running the tree nurseries. In workshops and training sessions, they learn the necessary know-how for planting and caring for the trees.
